These last few weeks have been a whirlwind! On October 10th, I went to the doctors office because my blood pressure was elevated. They sent me to OB triage and I was told I had a trace or protein in my urine. I went home to do a 24 hour test which came back at 225 (anything over 300 is preeclampsia). I went home with no restrictions and 4 days later, my blood pressure was elevated again. I went back to the hospital but this time I was admitted for bedrest for 8 days. My protein number started at 660 and then dropped to 430 and then 315 by the time I was discharged. It was a scary few days because we were very close to meeting Brooks at only 30 weeks gestation. Thankfully he has held on a few more weeks with bedrest. I was readmitted to the hospital on November 4th and will be here until he arrives. My number today hit 3,106. We are trying to keep him in until November 15th (35 weeks) to avoid a long NICU stay.
I had to cancel so many of the things I have looked forward to since being pregnant. My baby shower, my baby moon, my maternity pictures, etc. and now I will have to have a c section and have a preemie so no birth photographer, no fresh 48 pics, nothing. I feel like I have been robbed of the experience a little but I know those are all material things and at the end of the day, a healthy baby is all that matters!
Sweet boy, we are getting so close to meeting you and we are all so excited. You have definitely kept everyone on their toes. Your ultrasound shows that you look just like mama 🙂
That is scary! I am sorry you have to go through that but you are doing the right things and in good hands. Wishing you the best!

Very scary! A 35-weeker might only mean staying in a Special Care Nursery for a couple of weeks rather than a high level NICU. But it’s still a stressful two weeks of so (based on personal experience)…wishing you the best!!! Many hugs!
